Charlotte Award Committee Members

2025 Charlotte Award Committee seeks members according to the following criteria:
  1. Be a  member in good standing of the New York State Reading Association (either of a local council or a member at-large)
  2. Apply for membership to the committee and include a resume that qualifies him/her for membership to the committee
  3. Be approved by the NYSRA Board of Directors
  4. Be willing to commit several hours weekly to reading and reviewing books submitted for the Charlotte Award and maintain a file/record of the work he/she has done.  
  5. Maintain ongoing communication with the award chairperson
  6. Participate in committee meetings either in person or online
  7. Serve as a presenter as part of the committee at the annual NYSRA Conference
  8. Work well with others
  9. Promote the Charlotte Award throughout his/her region by giving presentations and collaborating with local councils, schools, and public libraries
  10. Step down after 3 consecutive ballots, and is again eligible for membership after being off the committee for one ballot.  

The committee will receive and review books to be considered for the 2025 ballot.  If selected to the committee, the member agrees to serve for the entire ballot cycle, ending with the presentation of the 2025 award at the Annual Conference.
