The Language and Literacy Spectrum is a peer reviewed journal which is published annually for NYSRA's membership. Those submitting articles should keep in mind that the NYSRA membership consists primarily of practicing teachers and literacy specialists. While theoretical and research articles are invited, the editors also encourage articles related to classroom practice, as well as book reviews of professional texts and children’s literature. We define literacy broadly to include reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, and creating in many different modes and for many different purposes in order to interact with the world.
The Language and Literacy Spectrum is a peer reviewed journal published annually and available online. The readership consists primarily of practicing teachers and literacy specialists. While theoretical and research articles are invited, the editors also welcome articles related to classroom practice and book reviews of professional texts and children’s literature. We encourage articles from K-12 practitioners, literacy researchers, and presenters from the NYSRA conference. We are also seeking to expand the membership of the Editorial Review Board and invite you to consider participating. As a reviewer, you can anticipate being asked to review one to two manuscripts per year. Potential reviewers are asked to apply through this link to provide some information about areas of expertise. We welcome doctoral students, early career scholars, experienced scholars, and practitioners with research experience to serve on the Editorial Review Board.
