We're now accepting Requests for Proposals for Conference 2023!! 

This year’s theme, Better Together: Paths Forward in Literacy, Learning, and Hope, invites us to reflect on the ways that we are strongest as a community: whether we think at the level of our classrooms, schools, districts, cities, or networks of educators across the state. This conference will support putting the pieces together around how to heal and move forward in light of the difficulties we have faced as humans and literacy teachers since the beginning of the pandemic. Together, we will share best research-informed practices around literacy and learning, to carry us and our students toward hope.

We invite you to submit to one of the following strands:

• Designing: What do we need to rethink as we design new lessons, curricula, and classroom structures to meet the needs of the students we have right now?
• Applying: How do we interpret and apply literacy research in humanizing ways?
• Playing: What does it look like to center play and joy in our classrooms?
• Composing: How do we support our students in telling their own stories orally or through writing?
• Healing: How can we support social emotional learning for our students as well as practices that restore us as teachers?

Deadline for proposals (individual, roundtable, poster) is Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
